Rooted

She resembled an oak tree.
Tethered by the seasons that carved their initials unto its trunk.
Not once shaken by the brutality of a windstorm, nor moved by the flowers that grew beside it.
She kept still while the world ran around in circles.
Voluntarily planted and masterfully rooted into the depths of the ground.
