Eclipse – Karina G-Lopez

An eclipse
Salt of the earth
Pepper and paprika
Seasoned strands, roots
Red rollers
Rolling pins
Saffron stained hands
Cafe y azucar y salsa
No chips on shoulders
Bate que bate
En su bata
A batellar
A majar
Y guallar
La Guerrierra
A mastermind
Her cocina is a canvas
Seamstress, chef and artist
Foods that soothe
Sew and stitch
Stents and stitches
She kneads
She kneels
She is church
She is Carnival
Memories and mistakes
Unwritten memoirs
Moonshine before midnight
Manzanilla in the morning
Sunsets and sunrises
Sol y Luna
Majando maza
En su bata
A batellar
Y guallar
La Guerrierra
Es Un Eclipse
